PRAVDINSK (FRIEDLAND) - ZHELEZNODOROZHNY (GERDAUEN)

Accompanied by a guide past the Friedland Gate (named, by the way, in honor of the city to which we set off), we leave Kaliningrad to the southeast of the region, to the city of Pravdinsk.

Pravdinsk often became a place of important historical events. It was here where the famous battle of the Russian army with the Napoleonic army took place in 1807.

Zheleznodorozhny will not leave anyone indifferent!
In fact, this is the only place in the region where a comprehensive pre-war building development has been preserved.
And half-timbered buildings, and the remains of the Order Castle, turned into the estate in the XIX century, and the ruins of the 14th-century church, and the castle mill, and just the old crooked streets with burgher houses, and even later “acquisitions” - such as paving stones with iron plates-skids for horse-drawn carts in the station area - all this quite can pretend to be a tourist "highlight".
Moreover, after the start of the recent overhaul of the facades, Zheleznodorozhny is being transformed.
